      In the Yangon Sailing Club besides International classes laser, Laser II, Int'l 420, Int'l 470, Enterprise and Optimist there are Sharpie and Rater classes also included. The Sharpies are 14 feet long and double handed. They are specially designed and built accurately after calculating the area of the Inya lake and the strength of wind, so as to sail well.The sharpie class competitions are usually held on Sundays in Yangon Sailing Club.
    Their success serves as a model for all the "emerging" Optimist fleets of the world!!!The Rater class boats have been used in sailing since the time the Club was established. The length of Rater boats are 18 feet and two to three persons can sail and the members specially "A" sailors can charter the boats on yearly basis. Currently, the Cormorant is the commodore's boat of the Club. Rater class races and competitions are usually held on Saturdays.
